They Loved Well

This is a song I wrote for my Parents, Paul and Laila Wilson, on their 50th Wedding Anniversary November 2000. I am fortunate to have a Dad and Mom that love Jesus and passed that love down to me.

1) A woman and a man fifty years ago

Sealed their love with a kiss and devotion with a vow

The future was before them a lifetime to unfurl

Fulfilled because they loved each other well

2) Their children numbered five, three boys and two girls

Raised to trust in their God and work hard for what you earn

Their lives were all so different, in prayer each day upheld

And blessed because they loved their children well

C) The journey wasn’t easy and the path not always clear

But in the end their love would always overcome the fear

3) The measure of success is not how much you own

But in the legacy you leave to those to whom you’re known

Their fortune is their children and giving is their wealth

Success came ’cause they loved their Savior well

They loved each other

They loved their children and their Savior well

Oh they loved well, they loved well

Todd, your dad and I are so grateful to God for His sustaining grace and love which we have experienced down through the years.
We love you and your sisters and brothers so much, but God gets the glory!
    Love, Mom
